Quilt With Confidence Review

Quilt With Confidence is an excellent guide for the beginning quilter as well as a handy reference for the intermediate and advanced quilter. Some of the topics covered are color selection and coordination, piecing, block patterns, sashings and bindings. There are also projects ranging from a full size quilt to table runners and wall hangings. Just like her TV program Sewing With Nancy, the book is well organized, very detailed and offers many helpful ideas that are original. Look for the Note from Nancy blocks on many of the pages. One of my favorites and most helpful is the design wall (page 16), an improvement on the flannel board. It allows for easy design and color changes before sewing begins, saving time and sometimes aggravation due to an inappropriate color or shape selection. To borrow a term from Nancy, I "auditioned" several quilting books from the library before making my purchase and determined that Quilt With Confidence had all the elements that would make it possible for me to enjoy the process as I learned to quilt with confidence. I have not been disappointed. I love this book.
