There are some quilt books you have to have, just because they are fun. This is one of those books.
Cathy Wierzbicki has created quilts which look complicated, but are designed in a way which makes them approachable. I have already bookmarked my copy with quilts I want to make. Many of the quilts feature uniquely shaped blocks. "Think Inside the Box" features floating boxes made with 60o triangles, and the cover quilt, "Diamond Dust", uses pieced rectangles to form diamond blocks. Although these quilts look difficult or complicated they are not.
My favorite quilt is "Pajama Prayer" which uses pieced squares of several sizes to make a great quilt. It has a sewn writing technique which I have never seen before. It allows you to sew embroidery type lettering onto fabric with your normal sewing machine. I can hardly wait to try it out.
This is a book which I am thrilled to add to my personal library!
