Cut paper, fabric, and many other materials quickly and easily, plus emboss cards and scrapbook pages all with the same machine! The Deluxe Rotary Cutter and Embosser cuts strips ranging from 1/4" to 6" wide and features 45mm proprietary blades for cutting by pressure, a speed control knob, a clear cutting guide bar, a printed ruler, and an automatic light that comes on when the machine is running. The proprietary embossing discs slide on and off as easy as the blades and the foot pedal cord is separate from your power cord. This machine has a convenient carry handle on top and measures 8" x 14" x 7". (More customer reviews)I decided to try this item even after reading the 2 one star reviews I found here at JoAnn's Amazon storefront. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the cutter works as it is designed to. FIRST - READ THE DIRECTIONS - If you are cutting fabric you will need to adjust the tension screw, and for two layers of fabric it has to be all the way to the left. The cutter does however cut high quality quilting fabric quite well. Using this machine does take some practice so start with scrap fabric until you really get the hang of it. You do have to pay attention, and guide the material through straight. If you quilt you know you need to have accurate cuts so practice till you are really sure of yourself before cutting into your expensive goods. I can't say that using a hand held rotary cutter is really that much more difficult for me, but if you have any issues and I know folks who do, arthritis or trouble holding a rotary cutter this is something to look into. If you cut lots of strips it could be great, it is fully adjustable from 1/8" to 2 3/4" strips, straight or pinked edge. I have to say I am more sure of my old hand held but this is really great for pinking those fabric edges before pre-washing fabric and I am sure as I get more proficient with the machine I will use it more and more.

(More customer reviews)Product works fairly well. I would recommend this product only when you are trying to cut multiple layers of fabric or similar textiles at one time. The less you try to cut the more bunching there is. Controlling the cloth for a straight cloth when there are only a few layers causes bunching and the cut is not straight the way you would like. I purchased this to help my wife so she would have less pain when cutting fabric for online sale due to severe carpal tunnel and hand pain. For the price she hasn't been able to use it much. It rolls over the surface and it does do the cutting but there is nothing to control the fabric being cut while you control the cutting machine. I think it should be emphasized more that this is a product more for cutting thick cloth projects. For thinner projects you can more easily control the fabric with a handheld rotary cutter and get a more accurate cut.
