Singer Plastic Class 66 Bobbins-4/Pkg Review

(More customer reviews)A friend of mine gave me an old Singer built into a table. This thing is from the late 60's and possibly made of Detroit steel it's so heavy. The problem being that it came with only one bobbin.
I was afraid I would have to troll the internet for "vintage" bobbins to use with this thing or be doomed to use the same color bobbin thread on all my projects. Thankfully, they're still making this size bobbin.
The plastic on these is a bit thinner then on the "vintage" bobbin, but they work fine in an older machine.

Brother SABOBCLIP Bobbin Clips, Pack of 10 Review

(More customer reviews)I recently got a new brothers sewing/embroidery machine and it came with four bobbins, each with these wierd little bobbin clips. I didn't get it a first, until I wond all four bobbins, put the clips on them and clipped them all together. It's great, the thread doesn't unwind and get everywhere and with them all clipped together they're easy to find. But it got even better! The machine came with a little box to hold needles, screw driver, bobbins, thread puller, feet, etc. Well in the lid of the box are four pegs that the bobbin clips can clip on to as well, keeping them at the top of the box and completely out the way. I love these things. They make having prewond bobbins convient again.

(More customer reviews)Ordered these for my mother who had recently purchased a Brother CS6000I sewing machine, with uses the larger (11.5mm, 7/16th-inch) bobbins. Although (at least at the time of purchase) this product appeared when you searched for the correct Brother part number AND the CS6000I appeared as a buying suggestion on this item's product page, it is important to note that these bobbins are of the smaller type, therefore NOT compatible with the Brother CS6000I. Since "customers who bought this product also bought" the CS6000I, it looks as if it might be a common mistake.
The product itself seems to be of good quality if you need the smaller bobbins, but the important compatibility information that is present on the back of the packaging is missing on the product page.

I bought this machine for because two students brought ones like it and I was impressed with the quality for the price range. A good thing is, you can sew very slowly. The machine goes when you press on the foot pedal, it doesn't growl and hesitate. You can also sew fast too. The only thing I don't like on this model is that every time you stop, it stops with the needle down in the fabric and you must turn the hand wheel to move it up. It would be much more useful if the needle stopped in the position.

And we're going to assume that I didn't drive it to death by pulling a Frankenstein in the first place. Simplicity Deluxe SideWinder Portable Bobbin Winder Review

(More customer reviews)You can wind a viking green bobbin but you need to place the bobbin on upside down. It takes a bit of pushing but it will go on. It also spins a small amount, where as if it is placed upright it doesn't move. So I'm not sure if this is a good solution. The upside down bobbing does seem to affect the winding somewhat. My unit didn't wind the bobbin uniformly until towards the end. It did finish up nicely but I haven't had time to test how it works on my machine. There also doesn't seem to be any sort of auto stop feature. You need to watch the unit and power it down using the actual power switch. It doesn't make sense because you have an adjustable fill knob that pops out when your bobbin is full to the setting you choose. However it doesn't actually stop the machine, it seems to be more of a notifier. I do feel they misrepresented it a bit since they specifically list the green viking bobbin. So unless you want to wind your bobbin upside down you might want to look for a better solution.

I put the new one in, and once I adjusted the top tension and re-threaded my machine, I no longer had any jamming. I bought two just in case and the extra will go with my machine when I sell it. I later on decided to buy another machine with more stitches.

Brother SA127 5mm Narrow Hem Foot Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this (and the distinctive narrow hem foot which is the same thing so stay away from that too imo)and tried to use it on anything. It will only work on lightweight fabrics and even then the stitching is hard to look uniform. The stitches look wonky and the hem is incredibly small (5mm or less). I decided to just go for it and get the "distinctive" rolled hem foot set which has seven different and USEFUL sized hems (like 1/4" and 5/8", etc.)and give you a chance to keep those hems clean and professional looking. It is $50 for the set, but i am so much happier to have hemming feet that actually work!
