This "equipment" is a sham! Why in the world would singer produce something this awful is beyond me. If anyone out there sews you know this is awful. I spent too long trying to thread it! You can't respool the bobbin on it, the needle doesn't rise up so you can stick a cloth under it!, you're so busy trying to make it work, you sew your fingers in the process! In short, you can't sew with it! DO NOT BUY!!!

10 Spool Embroidery Thread Stand Review

10 Spool Embroidery Thread Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought the wrong item. This thread stand is for the real large spools of thread, not the small (1100) threads for embroidering on my home embroidery machine. The thread stand is much larger than I anticipated. I suppose it would work but it's too big for my use. It's gray in color..I know, a bit picky but I prefer the white thread holders that are smaller and fit behind the machine. Will be returning it.

Click Here to see more reviews about: 10 Spool Embroidery Thread Stand

The 10 Spool Thread Stand conveniently sits behind your sewing / embroidery machine holding up to 10 spools or minikings for those quick thread changes. Each thread has it's own thread guide to deliver thread smoothly to the machine as well as a thread locking system which keeps those loose ends tamed when not in use. This is a must have for the active sewist and embroiderer. * Multi-spool thread stand for embroidery * Thread cutter/clamp on top of eyelet frame cuts and clamps threads not in use, thus eliminating the problem of tangled spools * Ideal for machine embroidery or for keeping basic thread colors close at hand for instant threading * Eye-level thread platform for quick and easy color changes * Ideal for double or triple needle sewing * Thread delivery arm guides threads to machine * Sewing machine rests on stand's base for stability * Rubber legs on base absorb vibrations * Lightweight and portable * Easy to assemble Compatible with ALL Brother, Baby Lock, Janome, Singer(vertical needle), Kenmore, Necchi, White, Simplicity, New Home, Kenssew, Prosew sewing and embroidery machines.

The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook Review

The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great little book for those of us who love sewing attachments (in this book it's 98% pressure feet). This is especially true of the pre-computerized machine owners like myself who can't just program in a special effect, and who wonder how to use all those little extra feet that came with the 1980 Sears Kenmore, or whatever. My original machine handbook had very sketchy descriptions for its attachments and barely covered what they were for, without any insight on how to use them. This book does a wonderful job of filling in all those missing details, along with handy little tips on how to expand the original purpose of all those exotic, odd-looking pressure feet. This is a book that will nourish the soul of mechanical gadget junkies like myself.
A caveat is that unless you do a heck of a lot of sewing, and feel compelled to make your own bias binding, etc. you probably won't purchase or use many of the special feet and attachments described. Even so I found this book fascinating reading, and really expanded my ideas of what I can do with my machine as far as creating my own ruffles, pintucks and so forth, should I ever need to.
The only quibbles I have with this book is that it isn't inclusive enough. I still have a couple of mystery pressure feet that weren't described in this book, possibly because for some reason Sears Kenmore isn't even mentioned in the book's long list of sewing machines. Also, I didn't find any discussion at all of why some of the more exotic feet are really necessary, when their function can be performed adequately by a standard zigzag pressure foot. Otherwise this is a great little reference, with nicely detailed photos and descriptions that make the various techniques seem so foolproof. We know it's not really that easy, but it's nice to have a book that gives you a good idea of where to start. Definitely a need-to-have for the serious home sewer.

Regardless if you have a new or used machine, there are always questions concerning various attachments, how they are used with the machine and what functions they perform. This book covers a number of the top attachments as well as sewing feet in order to provide sewers of all levels the information and instruction they need to find the right attachment for any project. It is a reference that you will be able to refer to over and over again.

Singer 14SH654 FreeArm Overlock Sewing Machine Serger Review

Singer 14SH654 FreeArm Overlock Sewing Machine Serger
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this serger from Walmart about a week ago. The low price is what lured me in, and I have not been terribly disappointed yet, considering what I paid for it. Sergers are fairly complex and take a lot more patience to operate than sewing machines. You can expect to put at least an hour or two into setting this machine up, and should plan on running a few scraps of fabric through it initially to adjust the tension dials, which can be a bit finicky and over-sensitive. The machine comes with a DVD that is INFINITELY more helpful than the manual, and with a lot of patience and several failed attempts, I was able to thread it correctly and produce a stitch. My only complaint is that the stitching can be inconsistent at times, no matter how much I fiddle with the tension dials, but I cannot say I expected a flawless machine at such a low price. This is a nice machine for those on a budget or who use their sergers lightly. I only use mine for finishing the edges of light-weight fabrics, and it suits my purposes quite well. A more expensive machine would probably function more consistently, true, but I'm thankful there's a serger out there that meets my more stringent budget!

All the speed, efficiency, and creative possibilities of an overlock machine are yours with the Singer 14SH654. With easy access to the lower loopers, the quick and easy capability to make rolled or narrow hems, and the decorative stitch possibilities, this model makes an excellent choice for a first time user of an overlock machine or as a replacement for that older model in the corner. What is Refurbished? When a product is refurbished, it is made to look like and operate as a brand new item should. Many times it is as simple as the box being opened by mistake or for quality checks. Once the box has been opened, that item cannot be sold as new. Items with serious malfunctions are not refurbished, it would cost too much to refurbish them to 'like new' condition. Each refurbished item we feature is completely inspected, rerun down the production line and triple checked for quality before being packed and shipped. Most of the time the only difference between new and refurbished is the brown box and the lower price, which is your gain as an educated consumer. We are so confident with the quality of our refurbished items that we offer a full 30 day return policy with every purchase, so buy with confidence!

200 Spools of Polyester sewing quilting thread - Assorted Colors Review

200 Spools of Polyester sewing quilting thread - Assorted Colors
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

I got two boxes, each box 8 1/2 (inch) by 8 1/2 (inch), 3 inch depth. Basically, two, compact boxes. One box, an array of pastels, consisted of beiges, pink and blues. The second box, are the darker colors: navies, browns, and an assortment of pinks. Each spool states '300 m'. Overall, You get an larger amount of Grey hughes. I was disappointed by the size of 300 m threads. I wanted about half the size of the serger spool size, however, I did a price comparison, from my favorite store, and Googled another popular store, and I got the best deal for Yards (quantity), colors selection, and quality (a good,an acceptable cotton thread). Hypothetically, if I would of purchased, 100 spool set, at 100 m each, from the popular store on line, I would of got robbed, or had to pay $230, for the silkier thread, and that I can live without. If I would of went to my favorite store... it would of cost me $70 for just 35 spools, even though I like how the threads are wrapped on the wider, white spools, however I don't think there is much more thread then 300m on it, maybe less. Nevertheless, the two boxes where just like the ones in the picture, wrapped more oblong, then the traditional ones, typically brought at the local stores. I was glad they sent one box of pastels and one box of darker, that was nice, for better variety. I do recommend this product if you like sewing with the same color thread as cloth, the spools are about .35 per spool, priced to about .98 per spool. So, I forked out the $67, it may worth it. Thanks for reading.

I purchased this product in the hopes that it would help me fix my favorite shirt. As I started using it, however, I realized that it was not going to be acomplishable. I suppose that for ordinary purpases, it would wor fine, but I had a hole in the armpit of my shirt that I was trying to fix. The product didn't have enough space for me to fit the fabric into to properly fix it, and the stitch type wasn't strong enough.I have given this product three stars because it will work for fine for ordinary things, but don't expect to be able to handle big jobs.

Singer 14SH6540 Differential-Feed Serger Sewing Machine Review

Singer 14SH6540 Differential-Feed Serger Sewing Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this item at Walmart for $229 and was excited to begin sewing my first project. That was a huge mistake. The thread kept popping out of the tension on #3 no matter what I did. I tried tightening it several times, went back to directions repeatedly looking for what I could have done wrong, though everything appeared to have been done correctly. To finish the initial project I was sewing I ended up having to hold thread #3 by hand to create the right tension to finish sewing. Thank goodness for dexterity! The other major problem I had was the machine jumped around a lot on my sewing table as it sewed. It didn't weigh enough to hold it in place, nor were there any suction cups on the bottom to keep it stable. I ended up having to chase the machine down while I was holding thread #3! I'm sure it all looked quite comical, but it was WAY too much of a hassle for me. I returned the item to Walmart, got my money back and went to a local sewing shop and found a Janome serger that didn't cost too much more. The Janome threads beautifully with perfect tension and has little suction feet to hold the machine in place while sewing. Going from the Singer to the Janome in the same day made it very clear to me what a cheap piece of junk the Singer is. As a side note, I asked the repairman at the sewing shop about the Singer and he says he won't carry them anymore because they break too often. 3 Months later and I haven't had a single problem with my Janome!

I am extremely impressed with the speed of service from this company. I ordered the 1/4in foot on Saturday morning and I received it in the mail on Monday. That's not even a full week-end. WOW! what service. As to the product itself, it is exactly what I was expecting. While I have attached it to my machine, I have not had an opportunity to actually sew with it, but I have no doubt that it will perform as well as I expect. Kudos to the company for speed of service.

Brother SA212 Serger Elastic Application Foot Review

Brother SA212 Serger Elastic Application Foot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well first off the little instructions that came with the foot are LACKING, and than the foot its self was kind of dissapointing, it doesnt put much tension on the elastic so you still need to put gentle tension on the elastic. I have decided to make a casing for elastic instead of using the foot whenever possible but its better than a zig zag.

Brother's SA212 elastic application foot attaches and sews elastic or tape up to 12mm in width to stretch fabrics in one easy step. The channel on the foot guides and secures the material without the need for pins, and the foot also gathers knits as the elastic is attached. Singer 3116.RF Simple 18-Stitch Mechanical Sewing Machine Review

Singer 3116.RF Simple 18-Stitch Mechanical Sewing Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The reason I gave the Simple Singer 3116 a one star was because there is no zero star. I bought a brand new one. Do not waste your time or your hard earned money. I would be embarassed to put my name on anything that hookie. Chinese made. The bobbin jammed over and over and over the first day I started to use it. Singer said, " it might be off timing ". It's brand new for crying out loud. The instruction video was superb. But that's where it ended. The product is really frustrating.
Let me tell you about the bobbin. It sits in a half moon shaped depression that you slide a " hook " into and then while holding that easily disgorged piece with one hand you have to slide the race over all that and then clip " dog ears " over each side to hold it in place. Then you take the bobbin and slide it in to the center post. I can't think of anything more prone to failure than that design except perhaps just tossing those parts in there without even dog earring them.
From the Singer Customer Svc CTR apparently this is not new to them. They said the electronic units do not have " this problem ".
Hope this helps with your decision making. I wish I had seen this prior to buying mine.
